Are We Free..??

One of my best friends was watching movie ‘The Brave Heart’ in his underground,
“ये लोगो की क्या मस्त history है यार, you know William Wallace, this guy fought for freedom of Scotland in late 1200, क्या लोंडा था ….” (My friend is a movie buff n he likes to watch every movie with 7+ rating on IMDB) “they ev got cool history” (continued he) “seems like we don’t have any history, n jo जो है वो सिर्फ 100 साल पुरानी है”
I was shocked and perplexed; while he restarted the movie for me to watch n the first thing that came over the subtitle was “Historians from England will say I am a liar. But history is written by those who have hanged heroes.”


The Document attached to the article explains many things. The question ‘Are we free’ is still a question. The British have done a long term damage, longer then they have planned, the weed is been pulled off but the roots are still there. The feeling that we are inferior, we lack a history words like “तू अंग्रेज़ लग रहा है यार” when someone is dressed nicely; or “imported कपडा है भाभीजी” at shops; or “so cheap n down market guy huh, he was talking in marwari..”; embracing western culture is not bad but taking regional language or Hindi as inferior is the youth culture which is worth a boo.

Now why do we lack history, or we don’t have history before the East India Co. regime :-
1- Ramayan n Mahabharat are deemed as mythology and not history, regardless of endless evidences available, Ok I agree that some things written in there cant be true in any universe but we should not forget that its in poetry form and writing includes some indicative things and what we call ‘अतिशयोक्ति अलंकार’ which is commonly used to increase the beauty of the verse.
2- Our historical literature was burned and buildings were encroached not only by the British but the Muslin invaders back in 7th century, some good examples are Somnath temple, Taj mahal & jama masjid being a shiv temple, Nalanda University and when I visited delwara temple the guide told me that each and every sculpture’s head were broken by the invaders.
3- Our education system is in hands of so called secular people who pen the 1857 freedom fight as the military mutiny. and the funny thing that Aryans came from central Asia and pushed the original inhabitants ‘the Dravidians’ to the south. Just to make us feel “ooh!!! we invaded, Mugals invaded, Hans invaded, Mongols invaded, Persians invaded; we are all the same, poor Dravidians they lost there land”. (will explain this in some other article)
4- In spite of making an effort to understand our history we say “damn..! who cares” or “point kya hai bhai, its all fucked up now na”

We all need to understand that Mr Christopher Columbus & Vasco da Gama didn’t had a full bladder that he was finding a place to pee it was something in our country INDIA, that made the ‘Alexander The Great’ vanish here, Mohammad Gazani invaded India for 17 times, defeated, captured and released each time in hope he will not commit the same mistake. History is full of such examples.
We do belong to a country with a sempiternal history that we have never ever invaded or started a war, we have a great culture, we need to get rid of the shackles of slavery in our minds.

I am proud to be an Indian n given a choice, will always want to b born in India.
